Midwest KM Symposium becomes a permanent program
We are thrilled to share that as of 15 July 2023, Pioneer Knowledge Services (PKS) has agreed to take the leadership responsibility for coordinating and organizing the Midwest KM Symposium. The most recent event was held at Kent State University on June 16, 2023. The June event included 17 presentations on diverse KM topics and two keynote speeches. The full agenda is available online via this link.
The Midwest KM Symposium provides KM professionals, practitioners, and learners a space to connect, share, and network with others in the field. The goals of the symposium are to provide an opportunity for anyone who wants to speak to do so, to allow those in the midwestern U.S. to attend a significant event within driving distance, and to provide a high-value conference with an affordable registration fee.
The first symposium was held in 2008, and there have been 9 symposia over the past 15 years. Founder of the symposium, Stan Garfield, stated, "I am very pleased that the Midwest KM Symposium will continue under the stewardship of Pioneer Knowledge Services."
Edwin K. Morris, the President and Founder of PKS stated, “Our vision is that WE INSPIRE CULTURES THAT VALUE KNOWLEDGE AS AN ASSET, and we feel the Symposium perfectly aligns to our aspirations”.
As we plan for the next symposium, we seek options for possible venues in the Midwest. We also look to find like-minded people to help in creating this community, sponsors that want to be involved. If you have a suggestion where we can hold the event, or better yet, a contact with a possible location in the Midwest region, please email Edwin K. Morris, contact@pioneer-ks.org with the information.
